Fader, søn og Helligånd

It is impossible to fully explain the Trinity - to children and adults alike. But this illustration helps something.

You show 3 ropes in yellow, red and green. And then you ask the question: How many gods do we Christians believe in? Some say 1 - some say maybe 3. These 3 ropes represent what the Bible says - namely, there is God Father, God Son and God Holy Spirit. The yellow rope illustrates God the Father, who created everything - and is greater than anything, even greater than the sun. The red rope represents Jesus. The Bible emphasizes in many places that He is both the Son of God, but also God. And the green rope represents the Holy Spirit. He is God - and He is the one who creates growth in us - thus making us grow as Christians.

These cues are just one opportunity for service with these ropes. You can also use the rope trick to illustrate that we are all important in the community or in team work. And they can be used to illustrate the amazing unity of marriage between man, woman and God.
